Governor’s Commission for a Sustainable South Florida Reports
The Governor’s Commission for a Sustainable South Florida was established in 1994 by Governor Lawton Chiles “to develop a healthy Everglades Ecosystem with sustainable economies and quality communities.” The Commission included a wide range of stakeholders and helped forge consensus during the early stages of restoration planning. The Commission issued a series of reports during the late 1990s prior to Congressional authorization of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP).
